Election Security And Service

If we believe in our own free will and not election, being chosen by God, we do not understand completely enough the power of God. When we believe too much in our free will, the sins of our flesh can cripple us spiritually. When we know that God has chosen us, saved us and promises to keep us and finish His work in us and in our lives, we can have great assurance. Knowing that we are securely in His hands should keep us from any fear of Hell. And we should be thankful enough for His love and the security that we have in Him we will do our best to please Him and serve Him.

Ephesians 1:4: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

1 Peter 1:5: Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

John 10:28-29: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father*s hand.

Jesus planned to save us before He did it and He promises to finish the job. If you have received Him those things are true of YOU. What security!!! The only things we should fear now are to displease Him and not serve Him. We should fear His chastening.

Hebrews 12:6, 8: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Proverbs 3:12: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

We should realize that we are not robots. We can now choose to serve Him or not. Serving Him pleases Him, keeps us at peace with Him and earns for us eternal rewards. Not serving Him causes a troubled relationship, insecurity and chastening. No condemnation, just chastening.

Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 4:1: Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

2 Timothy 2:4: No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
